Some bad drivers in Oklahoma make themselves obvious by driving way faster than the speed limit and making illegal U-turns. While wild and reckless drivers are easy to spot, they aren’t the only bad drivers on the road.
Watch out for texters
People who can’t put their phones down even while they are driving are serious road hazards. Texting while driving is one of the most dangerous driving behaviors because it requires a driver to take his or her eyes off the road and hands off the wheel.
While talking on the phone is not quite as bad as texting while driving, it is still a very distracting driving behavior. If you happen to notice a driver using a phone in any way, it would be wise to try to avoid driving near that vehicle if you can.
Steer clear of tailgaters
People who tailgate other people’s cars are probably doing so for one of these three reasons:
- They are ignorant about the rules of the road
- They are not paying attention to other cars
- They are impatient with the driver in front of them
Any of these potential reasons for tailgating would make the tailgater a dangerous driver who you want to stay away from. A tailgater could be a newbie driver, a seriously distracted driver or a driver with some intense road rage. Whatever the reason for tailgating, the dangerous driving behavior is a notorious cause of many auto accidents.
You can’t always avoid bad drivers
If you had the misfortune of getting into an auto accident with a bad driver, you may be able to file a claim for your damages. Even if the bad driver is denying guilt, surveillance camera footage and eyewitness testimony could be used to prove your case.
